 This is the final production to our opening scene!

 The production portion of making our film was definitely a learning experience for me and my group members as well. Our main source of technology was our phones, we had our script on our phones practicing and rehearsing our lines. We used our phones to record our whole opening scene. Some other technology that we used was a ring light and also a green screen. So what I learned about using production technology is that every single element matters, whether you have lighting or no lighting, using certain audio, holding the camera a certain way is what I learned. I also learned that all of the elements help make each other. For example, let's say that you are shooting a very happy scene, you have your actors dancing, and your happy music playing. If the lighting is not happy and bright than the viewers may not fully understand what you wanted them too. Actually we went in based off of prior knowledge and what we already knew how to do with the technology. Of course we got a little he

 The film that I am trying to make is a crime thriller film. The basic genre conventions of my movie is a dark kind of closed in theme where the style is pretty plain and grey. The theme of our film is like a rime but a thriller at the same time. The other opening sequences are usually flashbacks and flashforwards a lot of the time to give off the thriller portion in the crime genre. An opening sequence can reveal meaning without giving out to much by give you an important detail that may happen later on in the story or before the story. This will leave the viewer asking why was this shown? or, What makes this so important? and Why is it important? Tone can give of a certain type of vibe leaving you asking why was this song chosen to open the movie? Or, why is this piece of dialogue the first thing that they want me to hear? etc.  The action depends on the genre and who wrote it and directed it, but the first two minutes can either be the most important and informative or the least amo

 The beginning of the film will be shot at school and the rest will be shot at a friends house. The actors in are film is Dana as Dalia, Elijah as detective McFatter, Shyla as Serena, and I will play detective Johnson. We based  our casting on our recording schedule and who ever is able to record the most and who is able to record the least in and outside of school. Our film will look and give off a drama vibe. Our film is going to sound and make you feel sad. We will achieve this by using all of the concepts in media studies. In our film we will record sound. There will be dialogue and voice overs. There will be sound in camera but also from other recordings that will be inserted into certain clips. Our storyboards definitely came out good and gives us a visual of what we want our opening scene. We will mostly shoot outside of school, but our schedule is we will begin shooting Thursday February 24 and Friday February 25 we will be shooting our first few shots in school and then the fo

 1. 1 INT. CARRINGTON POLICE STATION - MORNING 1 The camera looks at the floor of the police station. It slowly follows Dalia through the police station into the interrogation room. Dalia sat in the interrogation room for a couple minutes before the detective walks in. While in the interrogation room, Dalia started thinking about her past and started hearing voices. The detective walks in and started having a conversation with her about their suspicions about recent murders. 2 INT. INSIDE THE INTERROGATION ROOM 2 CUT TO Dalia walks in the police station and gets escorted to the interrogation. GROUP OF POLICE OFFICERS (whispers) Isn't that Dalia James? I thought she was still in the psych ward? Who in there right mind would let her out after what she did to that poor girl Serena. Dalia reaches the interrogation room door.                                       Editing Software     The three online video editing packages I chose were Openshot.org, Clipchamp.com, and video pad video editor. The reason These three made it to the final list is because I saw how they all worked and these three worked the best out of the rest that I have tried. The reason Openshot.org made it to the final three is because the app had all the required features like being web based, and able to lay multiple tracks. The reason that I did not use Openshot.org as my final editing package is because it did not have the collaboration feature included. The reason Video pad video editor made it to the final three is because it met all of the requirements like pulling audio off video tracks, and being able to lay multiple tracks and having the collaboration feature. The reason I did not choose Video pad video editor as the final editing package is because the app was not web based therefore you would have had to download the app every t
